Abhyanga or ‘oil massage’ is an important part of the Dinacharya (Daily routine) prescribed by Ayurvedic literature. Scriptures suggest the use of suitable oils massaged in the direction of hair growth and around joints, to pacify aggravated doshas and maintain balance.
Dhanwantaram taila is an essential part of the prenatal and post-natal regimen. Massage during pregnancy with the taila helps to strengthen the muscles and makes them strong enough to hold the fetus, which later helps in facilitating childbirth.
