Punarnavadi Mandoor is a herbal formula used in the Ayurvedic system of medicine. It contains antioxidants and other ingredients that help provide aid in the treatment of various ailments. It is useful in the treatment of anemia, edema (swelling), spleen diseases, liver diseases, abdominal distention (bloating and swelling in the abdomen), hemorrhoids, and skin diseases[1].
This herbal formulation is extremely helpful in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. It significantly improves the hemoglobin level and enhances total iron-binding capacity, thereby reducing the symptoms of anemia. In Ayurveda, iron-deficiency anemia is known as Pandu rog. It is caused due to an imbalance of Pitta dosha. Such imbalance can also lead to certain symptoms like weakness. The Pitta balancing property of Punarnavadi Mandoor helps to provide aid in iron-deficiency anemia[2].
Punarnavadi Mandoor also has Rasayana property which helps regulate metabolism, enhance immunity and strength. It also has diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties which help to maintain kidney and urinary functions. It may also help reduce toxins from the blood. It helps decrease urea, creatinine, cholesterol, and other toxins.

Anemia, known as Pandu in Ayurveda, is a condition that occurs due to an imbalanced Pitta dosha leading to weakness and fatigue. Punarnavadi Mandoor helps in reducing the symptoms of Anemia due to its Pitta-balancing property. It is also a rich source of natural iron that helps to restore hemoglobin levels.

2. Liver disease
Liver problems could be due to genetic reasons or as a result of various factors that damage the liver, such as viruses, excess alcohol use, and obesity. Punarnava Mandoor is a well-known Ayurvedic herbo mineral classical preparation which helps to promote liver health. It is very effective against jaundice, liver enlargement, and other liver disorders. It protects the liver from infection and maintains its proper function. It also improves digestion because of its Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties.
3. Gout
Gout is a common and complex form of arthritis which can be characterized by sudden, severe attacks of pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness in one or more joints. In Ayurveda, gout is known as Vatarakta. This is because the main dosha involved is Vata and it affects Rakta (blood). Punarnavadi Mandoor helps to reduce the symptoms of gout when taken regularly. This is due to its Vata-Pitta balancing and Mutral (diuretic) properties.
4. Intestinal worms
Intestinal worms are also known as parasitic worms. A person can get infected by eating undercooked meat from an infected animal. Infection can also be caused by the consumption of contaminated water, soil, or in contact with contaminated feces. These worms live in the intestines (guts), causing dysentery and abdominal pain. According to Ayurveda, worms are called Krimi. The growth of worms is encouraged by low Agni (weak digestive fire). Taking Punarnavadi Mandoor helps to improve the digestive fire and destroy the ideal condition required for the growth of worms. This is due to Krimihar (anti-worms) along with Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties. Punarnavadi Mandoor can also be used in children above 12 years for intestinal worms.
5. Loss of appetite
Loss of appetite can be characterized as a reduced desire to eat. This condition is also called anorexia. In Ayurveda, loss of appetite is due to Agnimandya (weak digestion). It is caused by an aggravation of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha dosha. It can also result due to psychological factors, leading to incomplete digestion of food and causing insufficient secretion of gastric juice in the stomach. Punarnavadi Mandoor improves appetite with the help of its Deepan (appetizer) and Pachan (digestive) properties.
Tip
