Saptavinshati Guggulu is a famous Ayurvedic guggulu tablet used in quick healing of wounds, sinuses, skin diseases, etc.

Uses:                   

It is used in the treatment of following conditions:

  1. Kasa – cough, cold
  2. Shwasa – Asthma, COPD, wheezing, breathing difficulty
  3. Shotha – inflammation
  4. Arsha – haemorrhoids
  5. Bhangandara – Fistula in ano
  6. Hrit shoola – pain in cardiac region
  7. Parshwashoola – Pain in flanks
  8. Kukshi, Vasti, Guda ruja – Pain in abdomen, bladder region and anal region
  9. Ashmari – Urinary calculi
  10. Mutrakrichra – urinary retention, difficulty
  11. Antravruddhi – Hernia (it helps to improve the strength of abdominal muscles and ligaments)
  12. Krimi – worm infestation, infection
  13. Anaha – bloating
  14. Unmada – psychosis
  15. Kushtani – in many skin diseases
  16. Udarani – Ascites
  17. Chira Jwara – chronic fever
  18. Kshaya upahata chetasa – It is generally used in chronic disorders to relieve tiredness and tissue degeneration.
  19. Nadivrana – Sinuses
  20. Dushtavrana – infected wounds
  21. Prameha – diabetes, urinary tract disorders
  22. Shleepada – Elephantiasis.

dosage:

3 – 6 grams, in divided dose, once or twice a day, or as directed by physician.

As per the textual reference, it is given along with honey.

Saptavishanti Guggulu ingredients:

Trikatu – Pepper, long pepper and ginger

Triphala – Amla, Haritaki, Vibhitaki

Vidanga – False black pepper (fruit) – Embelia ribes

Amruta – Indian Tinospora – stem – Tinospora cordifolia

Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica

Shati – Zadoary (root) – Hedychium spicatum / Curcuma zeodaria

Ela – Cardamom – Elettaria cardamomum

Pippalimoola – Long pepper root – Piper longum

Hapusha

Suradaru – Himalayan Cedar (bark / heart wood) – Cedrus deodara

Tumburu

Pushkara – Inula racemosa

Chavya – Piper retrofractum

Vishala – Citrullus colocynthis

Haridra – Turmeric Rhizome – Curcuma Longa

Daruharidra – Tree turmeric (stem) – Berberis aristata

Vida salt

Sauvarchala Lavana – Sochal salt

Ksharau – Yavakshara – Kshara of Barley – Hordeum vulgare

Sarjika Kshara

Saindhava – Rock Salt

Gajapippali – Scindapsus officinalis / Piper chaba

Each of these ingredients – 10 grams

Guggulu – double the sum of above ingredients
